The materials come from highly selected logs according to shape-diameter-quality
and maturity. The material is either rotary peeled or sliced in strictly uniform
thickness. Both are dried and stored in humidity controlled room. To center the
article on face veneer, the slicing are done in two manners. It is either slice
across the grain (Ribbon Grain) or growth ring / grain (Crown). The slice veneers
are mostly coming from thicky forested countries all over the world. The harvest
of the selected log for face veneer is normally small. They are expensive; hence
the material is converted into sheet and use to provide attractive surface on the
finish products. The wide variety of species available make it possible to match
color of grain and texture and combinations to one’s taste and imagination. Face
veneering applications are still limited in the local market but soon diversities
will come.
